Harbor seal pup born at Tacoma aquarium

TACOMA — A harbor seal pup was born Sunday at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, and another harbor seal at the aquarium is expecting any day.

The News Tribune reported that the new pups will have to put on a layer of blubber behind the scenes before they join four other harbor seals on exhibit.

They were both fathered by a harbor seal on breeding loan from the Seattle Aquarium.
