50 years ago (1963)
Woodrow Williams would take the post of commander of the Earl Faulkner American Legion Post tomorrow. Cora Smith, 2nd District commander of the Legion, would be the installing officer with help from Fred Fuecker and E. Ross McIvor.
Four members of the vocational welding class at Everett Junior College got in some practice and, at the same time, put together a neat bit of play apparatus for the youngsters at Parkland Lutheran Children’s Home. Working on the “submarine” were William Banks, Roy Miller, Gordon Lipke and Henry Kennedy.
25 years ago (1988)
Wearing his “fun suit” during the past few sweltering days had been less than a joy for Mike Irwin, who was working on his 50-foot sailboat. He kept his vessel at the Everett Marina. Currently Irwin was dusting the hull after supplying a layer of fiberglass.
A new golf course could be coming to Snohomish County soon. An agreement was reached this week and construction might begin by September on an 18-hole golf course, nine-hole short course and driving range to be located on the Tulalip Reservation.
