SULTAN — Three people were seriously injured Monday afternoon in a T-bone collision near Sultan.

The crash was reported about 4:30 p.m. in the 27700 block of Old Owen Road, Sultan Fire Chief Merlin Halverson said.

A Volkswagen Jetta was side swiped by a full-sized pickup, Halverson said. A young man and a young woman who were in the Jetta were taken via helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Their injuries appeared life-threatening, the chief said.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital in Monroe.
