Front Porch: Santa Claus is coming to Gold Bar

The city is holding its annual holiday festivities with a lighted parade at 5 p.m. today. The parade starts and ends at the Gateway Park gazebo.
Santa will be at Snohomes Realty from noon to 3 p.m. for free photos. Snohomes will be serving cider and cookies at its location at 809 Croft Ave in Gold Bar.

Free ski pass for kids: Fifth-grade students can get a free season pass to ski or snowboard at Stevens Pass.
The pass is good for the 2013-2014 season. The students must be between 9-11 years old and enrolled in a Washington school.
To get the pass, students must show proof of fifth-grade enrollment, such as a report card or school ID.
