Police stop man with shotgun in Spokane market

SPOKANE — Spokane police believe they prevented the armed robbery of a market when they stopped a man as he was walking up to the checkout counter with a sawed-off shotgun in his jacket.
Police say they received a report of a man with a weapon Thursday night near Sunset Grocery.
The spotted the suspect inside the store and discovered the weapon.
The 28-year-old suspect is a convicted felon who is barred from having a weapon. He was booked into jail for investigation of attempted robbery and firearm charges.
