Snohomish softball goes 2-1, still alive at 4A state tourney

SPOKANE — It was a long day for the Snohomish softball team.

But after an up-and-down day at the 4A state softball tournament in Spokane, the Panthers find themselves still alive and playing.

Snohomish defeated Wenatchee 4-0 in the opening round, fell to Puyallup 4-1 in the quarterfinals and bounced back to beat Battle Ground 7-4 in a consolation round game on Saturday.

Snohomish plays Redmond today at 11 a.m. to advance to the consolation semifinals. If the Panthers win their first two games today, they’ll play for third place at 3 p.m.

Also in the 4A tournament, Walla Walla defeated Lake Stevens 5-4 in the opening round of the 4A state tournament and the Vikings fell again in the consolation round, losing to Redmond 7-2.
