Published 4:03 pm Friday, December 5, 2014

The Herald is getting its own beer.

In a collaboration with Everett’s Scuttlebutt Brewing, The Daily Herald’s official beer is called Extra, Extra Ale and is an amber ale. The beer is being used for promotional use and gifts only and won’t be for sale.

On another note, if you can’t make it to the Washington Winter Beer Fest in Seattle this weekend a local brewery is giving winter beer fans a pair of chances to celebrate.

Diamond Knot Brewing is hosting two winter beer events in December. The brewery hosts an Industrial Ho! Ho! Vertical Tasting at the Diamond Knot Brewery &Alehouse in Mukilteo at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Two days later it will then host eight breweries for the Winter Warmer Invitational at the Diamond Knot Brewpub in Mountlake Terrace at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. Breweries pouring winter beers at the event include Sound Brewery, Airways Brewing, No-Li Brewing, Fremont Brewing, Boundary Bay Brewing, Scuttlebutt Brewing, 7 Seas Brewing and Elysian Brewing.
