TACOMA — A 27-year-old Tacoma man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, acknowledging he strangled his 2-year-old daughter a year ago.

The News Tribune reported that Salvador Sanchez-Orozco entered his plea Thursday in the Feb. 12, 2014, death of his daughter, Daveena. Sentencing is scheduled Feb. 27.

Investigators say Sanchez-Orozco confessed to strangling the girl not long after picking her up for a scheduled visit. Court records say he and his wife were separated and he’d been upset about his failing marriage.\
