Edmonds residents warned of neighboring rapist

EDMONDS — Police are warning neighbors about a convicted rapist who has moved to Edmonds.

John Wesley James Keeney, 40, is a Level 3 sex offender, the level deemed most likely to reoffend. He is living in the 22200 block of Highway 99, according to an Edmonds police bulletin.

Keeney has three rape convictions from the 1990s, in addition to a child molestation conviction and a 1989 rape case that ended in an assault conviction. His victims were girls as young as 12.

He is described as white, about 5-foot-9 and 230 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
