Car show in Monroe
The Dream Builders Car Show and Blitz is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe. Gates open for setup at 7 a.m.
There will be live music and 100 awards for various vehicle classes including motorcycles. There also will be loudest engine and burnout contests.
Admission is $5 for adults. Free parking is available. Proceeds from the show benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County.

Tech expo: Edmonds Community College plans a free technology exposition from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 29.
“If you’ve ever wondered how deleted data is recovered, how to install a hard drive in your computer, or how hard drives are repaired after a fire or flood, then this event is for you,” according to the flier. Hands-on activities are planned for all computer skill levels. People can register online.

Project moved up: Construction at Fire Station 22 along Damson Road is for the removal of an underground storage tank. The project was planned for next year but had to be moved up because of leaking water. The work will cost $50,300 and is expected to wrap up by Sept. 1, before school starts.
