The guys at Bothell’s Foggy Noggin Brewing has teamed up with Seattle’s HopVine Pub owner Bob Brenlin and staff member Zach Mertens to brew a couple of beers in celebration of the pub’s 20th anniversary.

Foggy Noggin brewed HopVine’s 20th Anniversary Pale Ale (5.7 percent ABV, 56 IBU), using Skagit Valley Malting’s locally grown Copeland 2-row barley, as well as British crystal malts and oats and 100 percent Yakima-grown hops (Columbus and Bravo).

“The result? A well-balanced pale with nice bright malty backbone and a crisp hoppy freshness makes this beer pop,” Foggy Noggin owner Jim Jamison wrote in a press release.

The 20th Anniversary Pale gets tapped Oct. 1 at HopVine Pub.

The second beer, a hoppy red called Four Beards Hoppy Red (6.7 ABV, 67 IBU), was brewed in collaboration with FN brewers and Mertens. Brewed with 2-row barley, Munich malt and British crystal malts “match a good malt backbone to harmonize with a Cascade and Amarillo hops,” Jamison wrote.

Four Beards Hoppy Red gets tapped Nov. 30 at HopVine Pub.
