The Navy’s Country Current band: The country-bluegrass ensemble will perform a free concert at 6:30 tonight at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave. Free tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis by the PAC staff. The nationally known band, which played most recently at the Darrington Bluegrass Festival, employs traditional instrumentation including banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel guitar and drums.

Bumbershoot: The region’s big performing arts festival today through Sept. 4 at the Seattle Center includes concerts by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Death Cab for Cutie, Father John Misty, Run the Jewels, Zeds Dead, Tame Impala, Billy Idol, Third Eye Blind, Andrew Bird, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Atlas Genius, Black Joe Lewis, Joywave, Reggie Watts, Fly Moon Royalty, DoNormaal, Anderson.Paak, Lemolo, Rabbit Wilde, Manatee Commune, YG, Maiah Manser, Shaprece, Kamasi Washington and Deep Sea Diver. Patrick Lamb: The award-winning Portland jazz saxophonist performs at 8 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $31. Call 425-258-6766.

Dick Weissman: “The Music Never Stops” is a memoir concert project by this legendary folk singer. Weissman also has a new CD out titled “Night Sky.” He performs at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth ST., Snohomish. Tickets are $15. More at thumbnailtheater.com.

Blues Playground: 2 p.m. Sept. 10, 270th Street in west Stanwood, part of the Stanwood Windermere Summer Concert block party series. Free.

Summer Aire: The 50-voice Summer Aire choir, under the direction of Steve Torrence and accompanied by Gary Hatle on piano, performs at 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. A donation of $10 is suggested. Ice cream social follows the concert. This is the 10th annual concert by the choir and the 15th anniversary of 9/11. The concert will include patriotic and folk songs.

Billy Bob Thornton &The Boxmasters: The band plays for a fundraiser for the Northwest Music Foundation at 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at Loco Billy’s Wild Moon Saloon, 27021 102nd Ave. NW, Stanwood. Call 425-737-5144. General admission is $45 and includes a casual buffet.

Un-Wine-d Wednesdays: Live music and tastes of local wines are offered by Marysville Rotary from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 with the Joan Penney Trio and Oct. 12 with the Danny Ward Trio at the city-run Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St.; 360-363-8400. Tickets are $5.

Blues and Brews Thursdays: Marysville Kiwanis Club joins the city in offering blues music and brews from a local microbrewery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 with the Margaret Wilder Band and Oct. 20 with Queenside Castle, all at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St; 360-363-8400. George Winston: The Grammy award-winning pianist performs for a benefit for the Good Cheer Food Bank at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Whidbey Center for the Arts, 565 Camano Ave., Langley.
