Mukilteo Police Chief Chuck Macklin has announced his plans to retire later this month. He is taking a job with Everett Community College. The news recently was shared with employees. The mayor plans to hire an interim police chief while a formal hiring search is conducted, Macklin said.

Veterans fundraiser: Paroba College of Cosmetology, Barber and Esthetics will offer haircuts and brow or lip waxing by donation from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 7, to benefit the Disabled Veterans of Snohomish County Chapter 13.
