Letter: Thanks to those who serve; they are not weak

To all my brothers and sisters in arms:
If you have ever wept for those “gentle souls” you left behind … you are not weak.
If you have ever awoken at night with dreams of battles fought long ago … you are not weak.
If when you return home and it seems your country and home town have changed … you are not weak.
If you get a lump in your throat and your thoughts turn to brothers lost long ago when the American flag passes by … you are not weak.
If you’ve ever wondered why you came back and others didn’t … you are not weak.
If you have been able to muster the strength and courage to seek help … you are not weak.
To my brothers and sisters in arms from all wars: Welcome home.
