Utsalady Ladies Aid will serve an old-fashioned turkey dinner, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ladies Aid Building, 78 Utsalady Road, Camano Island. Bring your friends and family and enjoy roast turkey with all the trimmings, a beverage and a slice of homemade pie.

Cost is $14, $7 for children ages 6-10, and free for children age 5 and younger.

Snohomish-area road improvements: County public works officials have planned a celebration from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday after completing a project to improve the shoulder of Broadway Avenue for cyclists and pedestrians. The event is planned at Horseshoe Grange, 16424 Broadway Ave., Snohomish. The new 8-foot-wide shoulder extends from Yew Way to 164th Street SE. Construction began in July 2015 and finished this month.

The $6.2 million project was mostly paid for with settlement money from King County’s Brightwater sewage plant. The work included stormwater upgrades as well.

Candidate forum in Stanwood: Learn about this fall’s crop of candidates and election issues at a forum scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stanwood Middle School, 9405 271st St. NW. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The lineup is expected to include candidates for Washington’s 2nd Congressional District as well as hopefuls seeking state and local offices. The event is free and open to the public. It’s sponsored by the American Association of University Women and the Stanwood-Camano News.
