Briefs: Snohomish pharmacist recognized by national group

Professional Compounding Centers of America has named Dawn Ipsen, owner of Kusler’s Compounding Pharmacy in Snohomish, as its Pharmacist of the Month for October. Ipsen has been a compounding pharmacist for nearly 20 years in Snohomish and King counties. She holds a full fellow with the American College of Apothecaries and is a clinical instructor for the University of Washington School of Pharmacy.
Everett chiropractor holds food drive
Milham Family Chiropractic is hosting a local food drive. Until Nov. 21, customers will receive one VIP Bodywork Sampler Package in return for a donation of at least five cans of non-perishable food. Founder of Juno Therapeutics delivers speech at science summit
Dr. Richard Klausner, one of the founders of Juno Therapeutics, presented the keynote speech at the Governor’s Life Science Summit on Oct. 28. The Summit is also the annual meeting of Life Science Washington. Juno, with headquarters in Seattle and a production facility in Bothell, is a leader in developing treatments for cancer – lymphoma and leukemia – using cell therapy.
County total employment reaches 400,000 in September
Recently released state Employment Security Department data showed that Snohomish County’s total resident employment reached 400,553 in September 2016. This includes the 55 percent who commute to jobs in King County and elsewhere. According to figures from the Economic Alliance Snohomish County dashboard, jobs for September are up 1.6 percent in the county over last year.
