Tree lighting, Mountlake Terrace: The annual tree lighting ceremony is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave. W. Choral concert by Mountlake Terrace Elementary and Terrace Park School students, a visit from Santa, and the traditional lighting of the “tree,” a lit frame atop the water tower. Santa Parade, Arlington: Arlington’s Hometown Holidays festivities on Dec. 3 include the Santa Parade, which starts at noon on Olympic Avenue. Donations for the food bank will be collected. The tree lighting ceremony follows at 12:30 p.m. at Legion Park, including caroling, a festive sweater contest, s’mores and crafts. Holiday on the Bay: The Port of Everett offers holiday activities starting at 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Waterfront Center, 1205 Craftsman Way. Tree lighting, Monroe: Light Up Monroe festivities are set for Dec. 3, starting at 3 p.m. with caroling and live music and a tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m., downtown at the corner of Lewis and Main streets. Merrysville: Marysville turns into Merrysville for the Holidays with a community celebration 5-8 p.m. Dec. 3 at Comeford Park, 514 Delta Ave. Family activities, photo booth, food, vendors, bonfire, live music, an electric lights parade and the annual lighting of the water tower. Tree lighting, Bothell: Bothell’s Tree Lighting Festival is at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 on Main Street downtown. In 1962, Life magazine named Bothell’s the world’s largest living Christmas tree. Tapas and Topics: The League of Women Voters of Snohomish County hosts a “Tapas and Topics” gathering to network, discuss current issues and learn about the activities of the League, 4:30-6 p.m. Dec. 6 at The Vintage Cafe, 1510 Hewitt Ave., Everett. Holiday 5K: The Edmonds Police Foundation holds a Holiday 5K fun run through downtown Edmonds Dec. 3 to raise money to purchase a new PRISM shooting simulator, a major training tool. Santa Run: The Arlington Fire Department Santa Run food drive runs through Dec. 11. A decorated fire truck will escort Santa through local neighborhoods on select days to pass out candy canes and help firefighters collect food and monetary donations for the Arlington Food Bank. Cat adoptions: The Community Cat Coalition holds a Home for the Holidays cat adoption event, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 18 at Harbour Pointe Shopping Center, 11700 Mukilteo Speedway, Mukilteo. Lights of Love: Honor your pet with a special light on the Camano Animal Shelter Association’s Lights of Love Tree. Light a Light: Donate $5 per light on a living fir tree at the Frances Anderson Center to benefit the city of Edmonds Youth Scholarship Fund. Women’s shelter: YWCA Pathways for Women shelter in Lynnwood is in need of cleaning and laundry supplies in addition to full-size and twin-size sheets and mattress covers. RSVP: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), sponsored by Catholic Community Services, seeks people ages 55 and older for a variety of volunteer positions, such as Boys and Girls Club mentors, volunteer drivers, food bank workers, tax preparers and more.
