Apply: Teens can study in Japan

The Edmonds Sister City Commission invites students ages 14-18 to apply for a student exchange with Hekinan.

Edmonds students would travel to Hekinan for the last two weeks in July, then host a Japanese student during their stay in Edmonds during the first two weeks of August.

Student cost for the trip is expected to range between $1,600 and $2,200, depending on the cost of airfare.

Hekinan has been Edmonds’ Sister City since 1988, and the exchange program has been a central component of that relationship. The deadline to apply is Feb. 13.

An application and more information is at www.edmondswa.gov/sister-city-exchange- programs.html.
