Guided snowshoe walks: The U.S. Forest Service plans to offer guided snowshoe walks on the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest from January through March. No experience is necessary and the Forest Service provides snowshoes and poles, though participants must come prepared with warm clothing, hats, gloves and sturdy waterproof boots. Donations are requested to offset the cost of the program. For dates and times, or to make a reservation, go to discovernw.org/snowshoe-bigfour for the Darrington Ranger District. There also are discovernw.org/snowshoe-stevens, discovernw.org/snowshoe-mtbaker and discover nw.org/snowshoe-snoqualmie.
