SULTAN — High winds Sunday toppled a tree at a park and ride lot here and ripped off part of the roof a downtown building.
A large tree that fell in the park and ride lot on U.S. 2 just missed a couple of parked cars, Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick said.
The state Department of Transportation responded to saw up and remove the tree, she said.
Winds also tore off part of the roof at the old Pastime Tavern on Fifth Street, she said. Video of gusts that damaged the roof was posted on the KIRO-TV Facebook page.
The Snohomish County PUD had a few reports of scattered power outages because of Sunday’s wind gusts but no major outages, spokesman Neil Neroutsos said Sunday evening.
