Safety event: Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Marysville hosts a safety presentation with Marysville Police officer Stacey Dreyer, 12:15-1:30 p.m. Jan. 22. World religions: Are world religions a mass of confusion or a world of opportunity? Philosopher and religion scholar David Smith compares and contrasts the central beliefs of the four largest religions, starting with Christianity (7 p.m. Jan. 26), in a “Comparative Religions” series at Lynnwood Library, 19200 44th Ave. W. Film series: First Presbyterian Church’s current Reel World Cinema Series takes up a science-faith dialogue theme. The Jan. 27 film is “Madame Curie” (1943). Meals, clothes: Gold Creek Community Church provides a free hot meal and sack lunches the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Dinners are at 5 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time and at 4 p.m. during Standard Time.
