Pancakes, Edmonds: 8:30-9:30 a.m. March 3 (first Friday) at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave. Pancakes, strawberry compote, eggs, ham, biscuits and sausage gravy, beverages. Cost is $5.
Pancakes, Edmonds: The Edmonds Sons of Norway pancake breakfast and bake sale is set for 7:30 a.m. to noon March 4 at the Edmonds Masonic Center, 515 Dayton St. Norwegian style pancakes and all the trimmings for $8, $5 kids 6-10 (younger than 5 is free). Norwegian Day: The Bothell Sons of Norway holds its annual Norwegian Heritage Day, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 11 at 23905 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell. Teen service hours: Middle school students (grades 6-8) can earn community service credit by helping out at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Volunteers will prepare crafts for library programs, clean up, sort books, and more. No need to sign up. Meet 10:30-11:30 a.m. March 4 (first Saturday, September to May) in the teen area.

WAYS TO HELP
The Binky Patrol: A group of quilters, knitters and crocheters who make “binkies” for children in traumatic situations seeks volunteers and donations of fabric, yarn or thread. Meets next on March 5 (first Sunday) in Marysville. More info: 360-659-7198.

Lighthouse docent: Become a docent at the Mukilteo Lighthouse and spend one day a month this spring and summer sharing history with visitors from around the globe. Fair auction: The annual Silvana Fair Board Auction starts at 5:30 p.m. March 11 at Viking Hall in Silvana. Like the fair, admission is free. The auction is the main fundraiser for the air, set for July 29 this year. The event includes silent and live auctions and a $250 cash drawing for registered bidders. Spaghetti dinner: A spaghetti luncheon fundraiser for Packs For Kids will be held 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. March 12 at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Suggested donation is $10, $5 for kids. Raffle and silent auction, too. Packs For Kids provides weekend food packs for students in the Mukilteo School District.
Fabric donations: The Clothing and Textile Advisors of Snohomish County in partnership with WSU Extension 4H Youth Development seek donations of fabric, notions, trims, patterns, yarn, needlework items and related books and magazines for an annual Fabric Sale, set for June 17. Proceeds support the Camp Stitch-a-Lot youth summer program, a scholarship for a student studying apparel design and development at Seattle Central College, and other community sewing programs. Women’s shelter: YWCA Pathways for Women shelter in Lynnwood is in need of cleaning and laundry supplies in addition to full-size and twin-size sheets and mattress covers. It also seeks the following food items: peanut butter, juice, canned chicken and ham, hearty soups, cooking oil, Betty Crocker complete dinners, canned fruits and vegetables, snack food, cereal and condiments. RSVP: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), sponsored by Catholic Community Services, seeks people ages 55 and older for a variety of volunteer positions, such as Boys &Girls Club mentors, volunteer drivers, food bank workers, tax preparers and more.
