MUKILTEO — The Mukilteo School Board has named the new school under construction on Beverly Park Road. Pathfinder Kindergarten Center is slated to open for classes in September.
The selection continues a tradition of naming schools after spacecraft. Mars Pathfinder was a robotic spacecraft that landed on Mars in 1997.
Registration for kindergarten for the 2017-18 academic year starts Monday.
For the first time, all kindergarten students in the district will have the opportunity to attend full-day classes, either at their neighborhood school or at Pathfinder.
Pathfinder will house kindergarten students from the Fairmount and Lake Stickney attendance areas, as well as portions of Challenger, Discovery, Odyssey and Olivia Park.
Attendance maps and more information are online at www.mukilteo.wednet.edu.
