Feire: Norwegian Heritage Day in Bothell
Enjoy alt Norsk at the Bothell Sons of Norway’s annual Norwegian Heritage Day, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 11 at 23905 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell.
Barneleikarringen, a dance group from Ballard, performs at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. There also will be craft demonstrations, a Viking long house, genealogist help, Norsk Buhund (a Nordic breed of dog), fjord horses and more.
Lunch featuring pea soup, open face sandwiches, rommegrot and desserts will be available for purchase. Free admission and parking.

Fire: Mountain Men show comes to Monroe
The Cascade Mountain Men Show runs March 11 and 12 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
More than 300 traders and exhibitors from across the West, and as far away as Tennessee, are expected to bring their arms, trade goods, arts, crafts and supplies to this show, which is billed as the largest of its kind.
Find muzzle-loading firearms, trade beads, leather goods, period clothing, arts and crafts, and more. Demonstrations include blacksmithing, wool spinning and wood carving.
Admission is $8. Event hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 12.
The Cascade Mountain Men is a traditional black powder muzzle loading club that holds monthly shooting events at the Issaquah Sportsman’s Club.

Eat: Corn beef dinner in Sultan benefits kids
A St. Patty’s Day Dinner to benefit the Sultan Boys &Girls Club and Volunteers of America is set for 6-8 p.m. March 17 at the Sky Valley Senior Center, 617 First St. Cost is $10, $25 per family. Enjoy corn beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots. (But grilled cheese is available on request.)

Sort: Too many Marys in the family tree?
Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day. Do you need a little luck o’ the Irish to sort through your family tree? The Genealogical Society of South Whidbey Island meets at 12:45 p.m. Monday. Speaker Jill Morelli will present “Too Many Marys: Finding Your Irish Ancestors.”
A basic genealogy class on “Local Histories, City Directories and Maps” precedes the meeting at 11:45 a.m.

Apply: Local groups offer scholarships
The Lake Stevens and Snohomish chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa women educators offers a $1,000 scholarship to a graduate of Lake Stevens, Glacier Peak or Snohomish high schools. The candidate must be a junior or senior in the fall of 2017 and be in an education program. Deadline is March 31. To request an application, contact Louise Poier at 360-568-7875.
The Edmonds Driftwood Players will award scholarships of $500 to $3,500 to graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled college students in the theatrical arts who are from south Snohomish or north King counties. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8870 offers four $1,500 Freedom Scholarships to graduating seniors who live in the Edmonds and Mukilteo school district boundaries.
