GRANITE FALLS — A man was hospitalized Friday after he apparently was hit in the head with a baseball bat.

The 30-year-old had been dropped off at the Burn Road fire station, and the firefighters called police, said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. That happened about 8:15 a.m.

Two men who were with the victim said they had found him lying in a ditch along 84th Street NE. They brought him in the back of a car. The victim had head trauma and claimed he had fallen.

He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he declined to speak with detectives.
