Modular buildings in park will be Lake Stevens’ City Hall

LAKE STEVENS — North Cove Park is expected to close from 5 a.m. Wednesday until at least 5 p.m. Thursday so modular buildings can be installed.
They are meant to serve as City Hall until a new building can be planned and funded, likely some years in the future. At least five modular buildings are bound for North Cove, and staff currently located at City Hall plan to move in after plumbing, wiring and finishing touches are done.
Once everyone is settled, a demolition date should be set for the old City Hall.
It’s part of a downtown revitalization plan that aims to transform the area, including opening up North Cove Park for better access to the lake. For updates, go to lakestevenswa.gov or lakestevensdowntown.com.
