EVERETT — Prosecutors have charged a 27-year-old man with assault for a May 9 shooting at an Everett-area barbershop.
Dominique Sanders is accused of shooting a man in the legs with a revolver. Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies found the victim lying in a pool of blood on the floor of the business. He quickly identified the shooter, saying the gunfire was over a longstanding beef.
The man told police he’d borrowed a car from Sanders in 2015. Police found drugs in the car and arrested the man. He was released the next day and rumor spread that the man had snitched to get out so quickly. Word also got back to the man that Sanders believed he was owed money because the drugs were confiscated.
The victim told sheriff’s detectives he was visiting from Missouri. He was in the barbershop when Sanders came in and “casually pulled out a revolver,” Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Jarett Goodkin wrote.
The victim said he lunged at Sanders, who turned his head and fired twice.
Sanders was being held on $500,000 bail. He has no prior felony convictions.
