TULALIP — Crews from five fire districts worked Saturday to help contain a 10-acre brush fire on Waterworks Road.
The fire might have started from a slash pile that got out of control, said Christie Veley, a Marysville Fire Department spokeswoman.
Although the fire was about 90 percent contained late Saturday afternoon, crews had to navigate a few miles of single lane road to get to the blaze, north of Marysville. “It’s difficult to get all the water they need,” she said.
Firefighters from Marysville, Tulalip, Lake Stevens, Arlington, and Granite Falls were dispatched to help extinguish the blaze.
