Tour de Terrace
The Mountlake Terrace family festival, Tour de Terrace, kicks off Friday with a parade starting at 6:15 p.m. along 56th Avenue W from 234th Street north to 22nd Street. The festival continues through Sunday with a carnival, entertainment and street fair, with a car show and fireworks Saturday.

Aquafest at the lake
The Lake Stevens family festival Aquafest runs Friday to Sunday downtown along Main Street, at North Cove Park and on the lake itself. Find live entertainment, food, crafts and a carnival on land, and rowing tutorials, competitions and a boat parade.
Some events will be in different locations than past years because of construction in the city.

25th Nubian Jam is Saturday
The Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee organizes the 25th annual Nubian Jam, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park, 802 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. The free festival features live music, merchants and food vendors, and resources from the Snohomish County Branch NAACP, League of Women Voters, and Communities of Color Coalition.

Stop by the Silvana Fair
The 70th annual Silvana Fair is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 1331 Pioneer Highway. Inside exhibits are in Viking Hall and animal exhibits in the field behind the hall. Animal exhibits are entered Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Plans include music, games and 4H demonstrations. Admission and parking are free.

Tall ships are coming
The Lady Washington, our state’s official tall ship, and its companion vessel the Hawaiian Chieftan will visit Aug. 16-17 at the Port of Everett, 1726 W Marine View Drive, and Aug. 18-21 at the Port of Edmonds, 336 Admiral Way.
In Everett, vessel tours are scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 16 and 17 and cost a $5 donation. Two-hour evening sails are $42 to $49 and require a ticket. A four-hour passage from Everett to Edmonds on Aug. 18 is $79.
In Edmonds, vessel tours are at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 and 20, evening sails are Aug. 18 and 19, mid-day “adventure” sail is Aug. 20, and afternoon “battle” sails are Aug. 19 and 20. Passage to the next stop, at Port Ludlow, is Aug. 22.
The ships are operated by the educational nonprofit Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority.

An “It’s All Relative” peer support and networking group for grandparents raising grandchildren and other kinship caregivers meets 5 to 7 p.m. third Tuesdays at the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Stevens, 1609 E. Lakeshore Drive.
