MARYSVILLE — A wreck that sent a man to the hospital Wednesday started with a rear-end collision along I-5 in Marysville.

The man was driving in a black Audi northbound around 2:20 p.m. He had passed 136th Street NE when his car struck the back of a semi-truck used to carry cattle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Audi veered left and another semi-truck struck the driver’s side of the car.

The man, 40, of Los Angeles, was seriously injured, according to State Patrol. The truck drivers were not hurt.

One of the trucks jack-knifed and blocked all northbound lanes. They were closed for more than two hours.
