MARYSVILLE — A Marysville teen died from blunt force injuries to the head, more than a week after a fist fight in the woods, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday.

Robert L. Myrick Jr., a student in the Marysville School District, met another boy to fight in a wooded area near Pinewood Elementary School on Aug. 19, as a way to “settle differences,” according to Marysville police. About a dozen other kids gathered to watch.

Myrick suffered grave injuries in the fight. He died nine days later at a local hospital. He was 16.

No one has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. Police believe the fight was over personal issues, rather than something gang- or school-related.
