LAKE STEVENS — A couple of burglars entered a Lake Stevens home early Sunday and hit a sleeping man with a baseball bat.
The man, who is in his 60s, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, said Lake Stevens police Cmdr. Ron Brooks. He is expected to survive.
The attack happened around 1 a.m. Two men broke into the house on 99th Avenue SE that wasn’t locked, Brooks said. They grabbed a bat they found outside and struck the homeowner in the head.
“They kept asking, ‘Where’s the money?’,” Brooks said.
Eventually they left. Police did not have a description of the suspects.
The bat was collected as evidence.
