Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds. Call 206-533-2000 or go to www.tptedmonds.org. “Twist of the Magi” — by the theater’s own managing director Debra Rich Gettleman, and featuring the song stylings of the Twisted Sisters — will be presented at 8 p.m. Dec. 22-23 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 23. The piece starts with O’Henry’s classic short story “Gift of the Magi,” which unfolds at a 1940s radio station. The characters include a slew of disgruntled actors, a frantic sound effect technician, a whacky female trio, a delinquentShakespearean prima donna, a jealous Italian femme fatale and a host of other broadcasting eccentrics. The cast includes Alissa Cattabriga, James Lynch, Nicola Amos, Sarah McGrath, Denise Wichsier, Scott Hibbert, Steve Heiret, Susan Connors and Melanie Calderwood. Directed by Keith Dahlgren and Michael Corry.

ACT’s “A Christmas Carol”: A Contemporary Theater, 700 Union St., Seattle, www.acttheatre.org. Region’s longest-running Dickens show, with Mukilteo’s Keagan Estes reprising his role as Tiny Tim. The 9-year-old’s sister, Kalia Estes, will play his on-stage sister Elizabeth. Performances through Dec. 28.

Edmonds Driftwood Players: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds; www.edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org or 425-774-9600. Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird,” opens Feb. 9. The story of courage and racial injustice is told through the eyes of a 6-year-old girl from a quiet southern town.

Red Curtain: The Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school). “Body Awareness,” opens Jan. 19.When the guest speaker at a local community college is invited to stay with the organizer and her same-sex partner, he finds himself caught in a moral tug-of-war. The Burlesque Nutcracker: The Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker through Dec. 28 at The Triple Door, 216 Union St., Seattle. Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Swan Lake: Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake runs Feb. 2-11 at McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., Seattle. The founding artistic director’s version of the most famous of classical ballets now has a revised staging and featuring new scenic, costume and lighting designs. Tickets start at $30. Tribe Has Spoken 3: Unexpected Productions hosts its third “Survivor”-inspired comedy improv challenge Saturday nights in January and February. Each week improvisors will try to outwit, outplay and outlast in challenges to become the ultimate impro-vivor. Just like in the reality TV show, players will be eliminated at tribal council. Tribe Has Spoken Reunion Show: A special reunion show following the finale of the Tribe Has Spoken comedy improv challenge is at 8:05 p.m. Feb. 25.
