WAYS TO HELP
Delta Neighborhood cleanup
Residents of Everett’s Delta Neighborhood are urged to participate in a St. Patrick’s Day cleanup Saturday. Volunteers will gather at 10 a.m., rain or shine, at the Wiggums Hollow Park picnic shelter where assignments will be made and cleanup supplies provided. A prize will go to the volunteer with the best St. Patrick’s Day attire.

Native Culture night
Skykomish Valley Indian Education families hold an “Evening of Native Culture” and silent auction, 6:15 p.m. March 24 at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, 17001 Tester Road. Music and storytelling begin at 7. Admission is free, and refreshments are provided.

Learn about Assistance League
Assistance League of Everett plans a social gathering to let potential volunteers in on “the best kept secret in Snohomish County.” The information night runs 5 to 7:30 p.m. April 11 at 5107 Evergreen Way. Light appetizers will be served and there will be tours of the facility.

Nominate grand marshals
The annual Shindig Grand Parade will be held July 14 in Sultan. Nominations are sought for grand marshal. A grand marshal also is sought for the Shindig Logger’s Contest.
Just a bit east, the annual Gold Dust Days Grand Parade will be held July 28 and also seeks a grand marshal.
All nominations are due March 31.

Edmonds openings
Edmonds’ Citizens Economic Development Commission has two openings. The volunteer posts include two-year terms. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. March 30.

Island County openings
The Island County Board of Commissioners seeks applicants to serve on the Planning Commission’s District 3 seat. Potential commissioners must live on north Whidbey or Camano islands. Volunteers serve four-year terms and meet twice a month in Coupeville.
