EDMONDS — A motorcyclist crashed and abandoned an injured passenger in a hit-and-run Thursday morning near Edmonds, according to the Washington State Patrol.
State troopers are trying to track down witnesses and the rider himself.
The black sport bike had been erratically traveling south on I-5 around 6:55 a.m., when the rider lost control in the right shoulder of the exit to Highway 104, state troopers said.
The motorbike crashed into a guardrail and slid to a stop. A woman on the bike slammed into a post, causing serious injuries, according to the state patrol.
The driver of the bike picked up the motorcycle, climbed back on and sped off east on Highway 104, the main route from Edmonds to Lake Forest Park.
The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Troopers had not been able to interview her.
Tips can be directed to Sgt. Mike Marken at 360-654-1141, or the state patrol communications center at 360-654-1204.
