Run for schools
The family-friendly Run of the Mill 5k to benefit Mill Creek school athletic programs is set for June 30. Registration is open. Cost is $25 for adults, $20 students, or $35 for an adult with a child in a jogging stroller.
Volunteers also are welcome.

Help with chores, errands
Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, seeks volunteers to assist with household chores, yard care, transportation and other tasks that enable elders, veterans and adults with disabilities to remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers typically serve two to eight hours per month.

Volunteer at a hospital gift shop
Gift shops at local hospitals raise money for local causes and rely on volunteers.
Monroe: The gift shop at EvergreenHealth Monroe needs reliable volunteers to work three-hour shifts. The gift shop is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. More info: Janie, vghgiftshop@gmail.com.
Everett: The nonprofit Providence General Children’s Association needs volunteers at the Providence Regional Medical Center Pacific and Colby campus gift shops for four-hour shifts, day or evening, two or more times per month. Green Schoolyard class for teachers
Snohomish Conservation District hosts a two-day STEM workshop for teachers of grades 3-12 June 27 and 28 at Everett Community College. The “Green Schoolyard: Stormwater Engineering” teacher workshop will feature speakers, curriculum with training, a tour of local rain gardens, ideas for school projects and planning time.

Audition for Girlchoir
The Seattle-based Northwest Girlchoir invites singers in grades 1-12 to audition this summer to join a group in the fall. Girls in first and second grades are invited to join prep choir with no audition required. Scholarships are available.
