Girl, 8, hit by vehicle near Silver Lake

EVERETT — An 8-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle Thursday evening near Silver Lake and hospitalized, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.

Witnesses reported to detectives that the child ran into the road in the 2300 block of 116th Street SE and was hit just before 6 p.m. She was unconscious and breathing and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

She was listed Friday in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

The driver, a 57-year-old Bothell man, stayed on scene and cooperated, the sheriff’s office said.
