Petty Officer 2nd Class Aaron Ainsworth

Marysville man in Navy

VALLEJO, CALIFORNIA — Petty Officer 2nd Class Aaron Ainsworth, of Marysville, is an information systems technician aboard the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land, one of two submarine tenders in the U.S. Navy.

The ship routinely deploys to protect alliances, enhance partnerships and respond if a natural disaster occurs in the region. It recently took Ainsworth to Japan.

“It was nice to travel,” Ainsworth said in a post on the U.S. Navy’s “American Connections” blog. “We were ported in Guam for two years and it was nice to experience another culture. I’m more active since being in the Navy. I see the world in a bigger perspective.”

The ship is in Vallejo, California, for maintenance. Read more at tinyurl.com/ya7tlb5x.
