Practice visual journaling

All ages are invited to “Visual Journaling: An Intergenerational Workshop,” 1:30 to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. Supplies provided. Participants will learn basic drawing and watercolor skills and start a journal. Registration is required.

Drip art for students

Creative Hands Studio will guide participants ages 8-14 (or ages 5-7 with adult assistance) in painting a picture of a tree at “Summer Time Drip Art,” 2 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Everett Public Library. Registration is required.

Still room to golf for kids

The Lynnwood Parks and Recreation Foundation and Lynnwood Rotary hold a Par 4 Kids Golf Tournament on Friday at the Lynnwood Golf Course, 20200 68th Ave. W. Cost is $80 to $110 and includes lunch. Proceeds benefit a scholarship program to help children from low-income families and adults with disabilities take part in arts and recreation, as well as local charities supported by Rotary.

Stuff the bus for Marysville kids

A Stuff the Bus school-supply drive runs through Aug. 10 at locations throughout Marysville, including City Hall, 1049 State Ave. Financial donations also are welcome, online at www.bit.ly/SchoolSuppliesDonation. A full list of drop-off locations is available at the website.

Charity show seeks hot rods, motorcycles

The Bill Baker Memorial Steel & Wheel SuperShow will be in August in Everett. The annual hot rod and motorcycle show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Machinists Union District Lodge 751’s Everett Union Hall, 8729 Airport Road. Participants pay $20 per vehicle in advance or $25 the day of the event, starting at 8 a.m. Proceeds benefit Guide Dogs of America.

MEETINGS

Light rail meeting

Sound Transit has planned its final summer open house about the Lynnwood Link Extension project this Wednesday. It’s scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.

Participants will have the chance to view the latest station designs and revisions that aim to reduce costs. Anyone unable to attend can visit a virtual open house online to learn more about the plans and provide comments: www.lynnwoodlink.participate.online.

The 8.5-mile extension from Northgate to the Lynnwood Transit Center is set to open in mid-2024. Major construction is expected to start next year.
