EVERETT — A man allegedly fled with a machete after he was caught stealing from a local store Tuesday morning.
One of the business’ employees came to work around 6 a.m. in the 2900 block of State Street. She had brought her dog, Lola, who started barking once they walked inside.
The worker turned on the lights, and reportedly saw the suspect taking merchandise. The Camano Island man saw the woman, grabbed a machete and ran out, according to a Facebook post by the Everett Police Department.
The woman called police, who reportedly found the man in some bushes nearby. Anything stolen was returned, according to the post.
The suspect, 33, was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail. Neither the worker nor her dog were hurt.
