Woman struck by car while trying to cross I-5 at night

MARYSVILLE — A woman was hit by an SUV while she tried running across I-5 late Sunday night.

The 25-year-old from Sultan was hit by a Toyota RAV4 in the southbound lanes about a mile north of the Highway 528 Marysville exit at about 11:45 p.m. She was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

The 52-year-old driver took the next exit to call to report he had struck “an unknown object,” the Washington State Patrol said in a news release.

No charges were filed, and drugs and alcohol were not involved, the patrol said.
