Gun flashed when people try to stop man’s attack of woman

EVERETT — A man allegedly flashed a gun Sunday afternoon after bystanders tried to stop him from attacking a woman on the side of the road.

Police received several 911 calls about the attack along 130th Street Southeast, an area south of Silver Lake and just outside city limits.

The suspect and the victim ran away. Police dog teams were called to look for them, but neither was found after several hours of searching, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Courtney O’Keefe said.

A 21-year-old Everett man was arrested Monday afternoon for investigation of assault in connection with the the attack, she said.
