Visit the Stream Center for free

See trout and crawfish and stroll along an elevated nature trail at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center. Admission is free Wednesday through Sunday. The stream center is located in Snohomish County’s McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett, and offers a hands-on learning experience with forests, streams, wetlands, fish and wildlife.

Visitors are limited to 30 people per half-hour session starting at 10 a.m. The last admission is at 3 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

Cultural event in Bothell

Utsav Mela, a cultural celebration of the countries of South Asia, is set for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9919 NE 180th St., Bothell. The event includes cultural shows with dancing and music, children’s activities, food and craft vendors and informational tables about the countries and religions of South Asia. Free and open to all. The event is organized by the Bothell-based nonprofit Utsav USA.

WAYS TO HELP

Rummage sale for Humane Society

Help the Humane Society raise money for veterinary care at its annual rummage sale, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at 6326 Lakewood Drive, Stanwood (Warm Beach). Donations for the sale are welcome, but no furniture or large items.

Edmonds woman speaks at fundraiser

Taylor Dowdle, of Edmonds, will speak about her experience with Providence Hospice of Seattle’s child grief support programs at a fundraiser for the group, noon Sept. 18 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. A donation of at least $150 will be requested at the luncheon to benefit children’s hospice and palliative care programs and children’s grief support programs.

Add your wheels to the waterfront

The annual Wheels on the Waterfront show of classic cars, trucks and bikes is set for Sept. 8. Entrants are welcome. The fee is $25 and benefits Providence General Foundation’s Cancer Patient Assistance Fund. The show will be free to spectators, with $2 parking, at the Port of Everett.

Apply for Arlington Youth Council

Teens in 8th through 12th grades who live in the Arlington School District boundaries are invited to apply for the Arlington Youth Council, which advises the mayor and City Council on matters related to and affecting local youth. Deadline to apply is Sept. 6.
