Car show in Stanwood

An annual car show is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stanwood Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW.

There will be barbecue food, music, raffles and prizes.

Registration to enter your car, pickup or motorcycle is $15, or $20 the day of the event.

Hear tips and tales from the Dragonfly Whisperer

James “The Dragonfly Whisperer” Walker gives a presentation on “The Fascinating Lives of Dragonflies and Damselflies” at 2 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Arlington Library, 135 N Washington Ave.

The presentation includes slow-motion videos of dragonflies laying eggs, bathing and spinning in midair.

Learn more about the insects, how to identify them and how to photograph them.

Learn about city police efforts over sweets

Marysville residents and business owners are invited to a Mayor’s Coffee Klatch, 11 a.m. Sept. 10 at The WhistleStop Sweet Shop, 1508 Third St., Marysville.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Meet a new team that pairs police officers with social workers to offer needed services to people who live with homelessness and addiction.

RSVP is required by Sept. 6.

Fundraiser for Arlington schools

The Arlington Education Foundation plans its annual wine tasting event, Wines, Brews and Cruizin’, for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28.

“Cruise” some Washington wineries and local breweries while enjoying a live mix of classic jazz by Rondo Swing.

The 21-and-older event will be held at Dwayne Lane’s at 20410 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Tickets are $30, or $50 per pair.

Take part in friendship walk and car wash

Village Community Services holds a Superhero Friendship Walk, 5k and Car Wash fundraiser Sept. 22 at Arlington’s Legion Memorial Park, 114 N Olympic Ave. Voices of the Village will perform live at the event.

Registration for the 5k or one-mile Friendship Walk is $25 in advance, $30 at the start line. The 5k starts at 8:30 a.m.; the walk at 10:30 a.m.

Car washes will be offered 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a suggested donation of $10.

Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase.
