Healthy Living Fair for seniors

The Mill Creek YMCA holds a Healthy Living Fair, noon to 3 p.m. Friday at 13723 Puget Park Drive. Get flu and pneumonia shots, sample food from local restaurants, and more.

Drag strip reunion

The annual Arlington Drag Strip Reunion and Car Show kicks off with a screening of drag racing videos at dusk Friday at the Arlington Airport, 18204 59th Ave. NE. The event runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $25 at the gate for participants. Spectators can get in for $3, $1 for kids.

Parade celebrates Latin cultures

Iglesia Gold Creek En Espanol sponsors Fiestas Patrias, a parade and festival to celebrate Latin cultures, at 2 p.m. Saturday. Watch the parade wind through Mill Creek Town Center, then head to the church for the festival, which continues until 8:30 p.m. The church, part of Gold Creek Community Church, is at 4326 148th St. SE, Mill Creek.

Touch a Truck in Marysville

Marysville holds a Touch a Truck event, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Asbery Field, 1605 Seventh St. NE. Admission is free. Horns and sirens will be from 10 a.m. to noon. See a dump truck, vacuum-pump truck, street sweeper and more. Food available for purchase. Bring a donation for the food bank. No pets.

Bike your neighborhood

Family bicycle rides are planned through Lynnwood neighborhoods at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12. Other Bike 2 Health family rides are set for Sept. 19 in Mountlake Terrace, Sept. 26 in Edmonds, and separate rides Oct. 21 in Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds. Explore local neighborhood routes. These rides emphasize safety, fun and learning to be a predictable rider while navigating around common destinations.

Veterans group provides speakers

Mill Creek AMVETS Post 2018 provides veterans to speak at school assemblies and local events. The group also seeks to connect with area Gold Star families. The post is open to any honorably discharged veteran of any era as well as active duty, Reserve and Guard duty personnel. The next meeting is 6 p.m. Tuesday in room 210 at Mill Creek City Hall North, 15720 Main St.

Help advise Island County

The Island County Board of Commissioners seeks applicants for the three openings on the Conservation Futures Program Citizens’ Advisory Board and two positions with the Housing Authority. Applications for both groups closes Sept. 10.
