Silvertips take 1st preseason loss

LANGLEY, British Columbia — The Victoria Royals beat the Everett Silvertips 7-1 Saturday in a Vancouver Giants preseason tournament game at Langley Events Center.

Reece Vitelli scored Everett’s goal in the third period on a pass from Gage Goncalves to cut the Royals’ lead to 6-1.

Victoria scored three gaols in the first period, one in the second and three more in the third.

D-Jay Jerome recorded three goals and two assists for the Royals.

Everett (1-1-1-1) will play the Vancouver Giants in Langley at 4 p.m. Sunday.
