Rep. John Lovick has shown himself as man of good character

Politics hit a new low (“Election rival: Lovick was sex abuse suspect in ’90s,” The Herald, Sept. 13). I have had the privilege to live next door to John Lovick for nearly 30 years. I know John and his children very well. John is a doting, devoted, loving father, husband and son. His children, wife and mother are equally doting, devoted and loving to John.

When a friend, loved one or even a simple acquaintance of John’s is going thru a rough time, you will not hear John say, “Call me if you need anything, or I will keep you in my prayers.” John sees what needs to be done and does it. I have seen him do this time and time again. I experienced his caring generosity personally. When my husband was ill, he organized a work party, organized meals and he spoke at my husband’s funeral.

There is a saying: Actions speak louder than words. John’s actions with his family, friends and community as a whole speak for themselves.
