SULTAN — Four people, including two children, were hurt in a two-car crash Monday in Sultan.

All lanes of U.S. 2 were shut down after the cars collided around 5 p.m., near Fern Bluff Road.

Two of the people had serious injuries, Washington State Patrol trooper Heather Axtman said.

A third person’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A 2008 Buick Lucerne sedan, reportedly driven by a 35-year-old Monroe woman, was eastbound on U.S. 2 and tried to turn left onto Fern Bluff Road. It hit a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by a 58-year-old Sultan man.

The two children were passengers in the Buick and were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
