Schack Art Center: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Admission is free. Schack classes include drawing, printmaking, basketry, jewelry and metalsmithing, encaustic, painting, fused glass and blown glass. The exhibit “Voyager: Steve Jensen,” runs through Nov. 3. Steve Jensen began his “Voyager” series to help navigate grief and loss, and with the hope to provide relief for others dealing with sorrow. A talk by Jensen on his art is set for 2 p.m. Oct. 28. Teen Night is 6 to 8 p.m. with the next events Nov. 29 and Dec. 13. A free event for teens and their friends. Cascadia Art Museum: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. On third Thursdays, the museum is open until 8 p.m. and is free during Art Walk Edmonds hours, 5 to 8 p.m. The museum is at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds. Mayor’s Arts Awards: The city of Everett Cultural Arts Commission invites nominations for the 2018 Mayor’s Arts Awards and the lifetime achievement Richard Wendt Award of Excellence. The awards recognize the accomplishments of artists, arts and cultural organizations and community members committed to enriching the Everett community through the arts. Everett Community College: A new exhibit, “Akira Ohiso: Fresh Eyes Digital work from 2016-2018,” will be on exhibit from Nov. 5 to Dec. 6 at the college’s Russell Day Gallery. Akira is an artist, writer and musician who gained popularity as an outspoken blogger and social media voice and is now using social media to curate about green living, art and a philosophy of slowing down. The opening reception is from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 8. The gallery is in Parks Student Union, Room 219, at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., Everett, and is open 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and is closed Saturday and Sunday.
