Monday is the federal holiday honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., born 90 years ago this month. The civil rights leader’s legacy will be commemorated locally with words, music, film and volunteerism.

The program at the Marysville Opera House begins at 5 p.m. Monday (doors open 4:30 p.m.). Keynote speaker JJ Frank, executive director of the Marysville Family YMCA, will talk about King’s influence on history and lead a discussion after the film.
